Jose and his team have done two major projects for us at our house which is built on a steep hill -- adding several hundred linear feet of wood retaining walls to terrace the front yard to prevent erosion, and then turning our previously overgrown and unusable backyard into a multi-level space that is safe and fun for our daughter to play in, beautiful to look at from inside the house, and has a paved area for outdoor eating. Jose's sense of landscape design and pride in his team's workmanship are exceptional.

Jose and team did an amazing job removing some fallen and unsafe trees in my front yard today. They were efficient, knowledgeable, and professional and the price was very reasonable. They even inspected other trees for safety and provided suggestions and guidance. I would definitely call them again if we need help again!

I can't recommend Jose, or the skilled, disciplined quality his Madriz Tree Service crew ENOUGH. First off, this was one of the very few tree services willing to work with poison oak. And in one of my oak trees the poison oak, overhanging a neighbor's yard, went up nearly 80 feet. He didn't try to jack the price up for dealing with P.O. And they performed flawlessly, comprehensively, as they did for the myriad other trees I placed in their care. And "care" is a good way to describe my experience of Jose.

Trimmed a very overgrown, large cedar tree. The crew was on time, extremely tidy and did a great job of assessing the needs of the tree and following through. They were in touch every step of the way and even sent photos, in real time, so I could clearly understand the scope of the job as it was developing! Extensive tree trimming, pruning, shaping of very tall, old trees – sycamore, magnolia, ficus, flowering pear. David and his crew were highly professional and did a great job. I had a little trouble connecting with Tree Preservation at first… David was on vacation… but he came out in July or August and gave me a bid, charging less because of the difficulty connecting. Later we scheduled the work for the first week in December. We confirmed again as the time drew near… and his crew came out as expected and did the work. It was a good crew… I was happy with the way they pruned trees and it was easy to talk to the crew leader (spoke good English and was a good communicator). David came out at the beginning and end of the job and we went over details. It’s clear the company knows trees and also knows the aesthetics of good pruning. I will be happy to have them return in future years.

The team was clean, quick, professional, and very respectful of my garden, which they worked in and around without damaging at all. David and I planned job beforehand, and his team used a cherry picker to remove cuttings directly to street area, so that nothing fell to crush the garden. We plan to call them soon to work on our very tall grevallias.

I really liked David; he seems very honest and like he really cared about trees. I wanted him to prune another orange tree and, rather than taking my money, he said he didn’t like to prune trees in flower and that he could do it in the fall if I wanted. I appreciated his care for my trees. His estimations were a little spotty: $180 to trim an entire palm and then $270 to remove 20 fronds from another, which didn’t make a whole lot of sense. But he was willing to work with us when I told him another estimate I had received. The best was that he left us tons of free mulch from a job he had done the previous day. I have used that mulch all over my garden and yard and everything is growing great with it. Anyway, I’d definitely recommend Tree Preservation and will definitely use them in the future.

David was really nice explaining how the crew would preserve the shape of the trees and cut the overgrowth. The crew was wonderful. They did such a great job shaping my overgrown trees to become healthy beautiful trees that no longer needed to be supported by 2×4’s to hold up the branches.
